Mixing heads
The mixing head is the heart of part quality. Cannon builds heads for every material and viscosity, and at Pur2Mix we supply, repair and maintain them.
Cannon invented the L-shaped mixing head
In any polyurethane machine, what matters most is how the components are mixed, whether two or more, at high or low pressure. Cannon invented the L-shaped mixing head, the FPL, patented in 1979. It brought high pressure to many applications that had been out of reach because of the limited mixing capacity of the straight heads of the time.
- Third component: FPL heads (up to size FPL 18) have an inlet for a third component, usually color. With the right equipment, you can switch color from one pour to the next from the program.
- Low pressure with twin rotary plugs: each side opens and closes independently, so one component can't cross to the other side, and only the side with a problem needs to be removed.
- Interwet: feeds long fibers into the head to produce RRIM (reinforced RIM) parts.
High-pressure mixing heads

FPL SR
L-shaped head for high-pressure polyurethane applications.

FP2L
L-shaped head with two chambers to process two formulations alternately.

FPL Interwet
Polyurethane and chopped glass fiber in a single operation.

L and LN
Straight heads for injecting low-density rigid foam into closed molds.

LS and LS Spray
Airless polyurethane spraying that keeps the work area clean.

RIM
For reaction injection molding (RIM) and reinforced RIM (RRIM).
Low-pressure mixing heads

Handheld mixing head
For elastomer casting, spraying, pultrusion and epoxy resin.

Multi-component
For casting high-viscosity elastomers, with precise mixing and long service life.
Is your head leaking, dripping or mixing poorly?
We overhaul and repair Cannon and other manufacturers' heads: pistons, injectors, seals and hydraulics. We keep spare parts in stock to keep downtime to a minimum.
